Where can I pick up my media accreditation badge?

Media accreditation badges can be uplifted from the CHOGM Samoa 2024 Accreditation Desk (TATTE Government Building, Reception Floor) which opens Friday 18 October.

Please bring your media accreditation certificate (issued with your registration approval email) and your passport/ID.

What time will the Accreditation Desk open?

The Accreditation Desk will open from 8am-6pm (18-25 October 2024).

Will there be live broadcast feeds provided by the Host Broadcaster?

Yes. There will be live broadcast feeds (HD 1080i 50) of all of the key events of the CHOGM Samoa 2024 programme. These will be made available at the Media Centre, as well via the CHOGM Samoa 2024 LiveU Matrix

Broadcasters wishing to receive these feeds via the CHOGM Samoa 2024 LiveU Matrix should contact the Host Broadcaster at [email protected] and copy [email protected].

 

Is there a cost to accessing the live broadcast feeds via LiveU Matrix?

No. There is no cost to access it, but the CHOGM Samoa 2024 LiveU Matrix can only accommodate a limited number of users/members.

Broadcasters with LiveU facilities who are interested in accessing the live broadcast feeds via the LiveU Matrix should contact the Host Broadcaster at [email protected] copying [email protected].

 

If I do not have any LiveU capability, how do I access the content?

The Host Broadcaster will also setup a GoogleDrive service that broadcasters and media organisations can access to download recorded clips, feeds, and content.

The CHOGM Samoa 2024 Google Drive will be available from 19 October.

Broadcasters and media organisations interested in accessing the CHOGM Samoa 2024 Google Drive should contact the Host Broadcaster at [email protected]copying [email protected].

Will there be internet at the Media Centre?

Yes. There will be shared Wi-Fi at the Media Centre for accredited media to use.

Can I access a dedicated internet service at the Media Centre?

Yes. Those who do not want to rely on Wi-Fi at the Media Centre can book a dedicated LAN port at their own cost from Vodafone. The number of LAN ports is limited and bookings must be received by 14 October 2024.

What other services will be available at the Media Centre?

The Media Centre will have large screens for accredited media to watch streamed CHOGM Samoa 2024 programming while they work.

It will also host bookable editing booths, a broadcast suite, a press briefing room, and hot desks and workspaces (available on a first come, first served basis).

What are the operating hours of the Media Centre?
The CHOGM Samoa 2024 Media Centre will be open the following hours:
  • Sunday 20 October, 0800 to 2000
  • Monday 21 October, 0800 to 2000
  • Tuesday 22 October, 0800 to 2000
  • Wednesday 23 October, 24 hours
  • Thursday 24 October, 24 hours
  • Friday 25 October, 24 hours
  • Saturday 26 October, 24 hours, closes at midnight

The operating hours for the Media Centre Information Desk will be confirmed at the start of CHOGM Samoa 2024.

Will there be a Media Liaison Officer assigned to every member country delegation attending CHOGM Samoa 2024?

How do I book accommodation for CHOGM Samoa 2024?

 All registered media will be provided access to the official Accommodation Portal to book your stay. The cruise liner Pacific Explorer will be docked in Apia and is the recommended accommodation for media. There are also selected hotels and private accommodation listed on the portal, but spaces are limited. The Accommodation Portal will remain open until 11 October. For bookings or accommodation enquiries after that date, please email the CHOGM Samoa 2024 Accommodation Sub-Committee at [email protected] For media staying on the cruise ship, it will be accessible from 4pm on Saturday 19 October. Please note: the cruise ship departs Samoa on 26 October, before CHOGM Samoa 2024 closes. The last day of CHOGM Samoa 2024 takes place at the Sheraton Beach Resort, Mulifanua, near the Faleolo International Airport. The programme includes the Leaders Retreat (which is a closed event) and the Closing Press Conference (which, along with the Leaders arrival at the Retreat will be covered by a small media pool).

What are the arrangements for media checking out of the Pacific Explorer cruise liner on Saturday 26 October?

 Those staying on the Pacific Explorer must check out by 10:00am on Saturday 26 October. Arrangements will be made for media checking out at this time to store their luggage and equipment until their departure later that day, or until they can check in to their next accommodation if they are staying past Saturday 26 October. Further details on these storage arrangements will be provided in due course. Media wishing to stay longer in Samoa must arrange their own accommodation.
