The CHOGM Samoa 2024 Logo represents the values and principles of Samoa, the Blue Pacific, and the Commonwealth.
The design depicts a unique Samoan flower shape, symbolising Samoa’s affiliation with the Commonwealth and its hosting of CHOGM 2024.
Each petal of the Samoan flower bears a distinct resemblance to a person, representing the heads of government from each of the 56 Commonwealth member countries.
These figures converge towards the centre, coming together from all corners of the Commonwealth to engage in dialogue, and build a resilient, sustainable and shared future for the nations of the Commonwealth and the collective global community.
The petal design, commonly used in Samoan artwork, reflects an unfolding of our culture, premised on the bounties of nature, the land, and the ocean.
Positioned at the heart of the Samoan flower is a blue circle, depicting the Blue Pacific—a single, interconnected entity that is our home, our ocean, our lands, and common heritage—for CHOGM Samoa 2024 is the first CHOGM to be hosted in our part of the world, by a Pacific Island country.
The wave-like patterns within the Samoan flower evoke the journey of progress and growth, signifying our upward trajectory, from humble beginnings to achieving high aspirations.
Rendered in the hues of our ocean and seas, and reinforcing the diversity and richness of each Commonwealth country’s culture, the colours intertwine and harmonise, exemplifying the spirit of cooperation and a shared commitment to working collectively for the greater good.
Four Forums will be held ahead of CHOGM Samoa 2024 offering a wider opportunity for dialogue and debate, and ensuring the voices of women, young people, civil society and business are heard by Commonwealth Leaders that will meet in Samoa.
The colour of each petal represents each of these Forums: the Commonwealth Youth Forum, the Commonwealth Women’s Forum, the Commonwealth People’s Forum, and the Commonwealth Business Forum.
CHOGM Samoa 2024 hopes to promote a unique perspective and driving force to transform, together, our one resilient family into a Common Wealth.
The CHOGM Samoa 2024 Logo was designed by Tauila Epati Tuumatavai and was selected by the CHOGM Samoa 2024 Media and Communications Sub-Committee following a call for Expressions of Interest in June 2023.
